He co-founded the Executive Committee of Afro-Asia Book Council too. According to a UNESCO survey, he is among the top authors of Engineering textbooks in Asia. The author completed his education in Delhi and Phagwara. Once an engineer in the Punjab Irrigation Department, he took up writing Engineering textbooks under the guidance of Professor Das, who teaches at Chandigarh Engineering College. Khurmi is a famous author of many Engineering books.
